Vocal Score 1 - Selections from 'Come from Away' the musical

Alice is returning to star in the leading roles of Beverley/Annette in the returning West End production of 'Come From Away'. Alice has a huge amount of knowledge, experience & stories to share about the show.

This joyous new musical shares the incredible real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11, and the small Newfoundland community that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives.

Winner of 4 Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical, Come From Away has taken the West End by storm as well as continuing sold-out, record-breaking engagements on Broadway, across the USA, in Canada and in Australia.

WEMC will provide a Lyric Sheet, rough sheet music (taken from the original / not WEMC produced.

Alice wants to teach this to you on the day so we will not be providing harmony tracks for this material.

Vocal Score 2 - Little Shop of Horrors

Alice has selected 'Little Shop of Horrors medley' from our Choir repertoire to take to the next level for upcoming performances.

As it's in our Choir repertoire, we will provide sheet music, the lyric sheet and harmony tracks for you to become really familiar with ahead of this Workshop. It's really important to know this song before arriving for the day (feel free to be 'off book'), as it means Alice can work in real depth with us!

As a leading lady of the West End, Alice knows how important is it to not only sing to your best ability, but also PERFORM every song to it's fullest potential. In the world of musical theatre, acting & presenting a song is just as important as how it sounds to the audience!

What role do songs play in a musical?

Songs have a dramatic function that are an integral part of the storytelling: They help to develop character and/or move the action of the plot forward. In musicals, it is a general rule that characters break into song when the emotional stakes have become so high that ordinary speech fails them. Through their songs, the characters can reveal their innermost thoughts, fears, hopes & dreams, grapple with difficult decisions & come to important realisations about themselves.

Musical theatre lyrics use many poetic devises, including rhythm, rhyme, repetition, figurative language, symbolism & metaphor.

Potential Vocal Score 3 - Oklahoma

In case we have any spare time, Alice wanted to choose a third score to work on with us.

Alice has selected ' Oklahoma' from our Choir repertoire to take to the next level for upcoming performances.
