Raising money & awareness for charities
Throughout the year, we at West End Musical Choir raise money and awareness for a number of different charities across the country. Through our weekly rehearsals and termly dress rehearsals, our singers prepare for our performance seasons. Below are some of our highlights.
From The Guide Dogs Events Team:
Hello West End Choir,
We wanted to say a HUGE thank you to the whole choir for your amazing performance at our Christmas Wishes Concert, we’re so appreciative of your support which really made the evening feel so special and festive. We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did.
Over 700 people joined us at the Cathedral in person, and nearly 350 virtually. This was the first year we’ve delivered a hybrid event with the livestream, and it proved a success. We’ve had over 884 views so far, and there were comments such as: “so lovely I'm blabbing already” “This is just wonderful” “wonderful choir ”and “Makes me so proud to be a sponsor”.
We will be collating a highlights video and will look to share this shortly. The live stream can also be made available once our virtual ticket sales ends.
If you have any feedback you’d like to share, please do let us know.
Otherwise, thanks again and we hope to see you at a future event.
Many thanks,
Guide Dogs Events Team

Alzheimer's Society Glow London:
Hi there,
I just wanted to say a massive thank you from myself and the team for being involved in Glow London. I have only heard such amazing feedback on you being there.
I saw a few videos the team took of you perform, and it made me jealous that I wasn’t there.
You can find all the photos of the night here. Feel free to download any that you want to use.
Feel free to give me any feedback on the event as well – both positive and anything that could have been better.
Kind regards,
Joshua
From Stick 'n Step Fundraising Team:
Dear West End Musical Choir,
I wanted to personally thank you all for kindly offering your time to sing for Stick ‘n’ Step. I am thrilled to say that in just an hour you were able to raise £266.92. This is amazing and we are so grateful for your support of Stick ‘n’ Step and local children with Cerebral Palsy.
As you can probably imagine it has been an incredibly difficult time and we rely on amazing supporters such as yourselves to help us continue to support children and their families.
Your support helps children like Heidi. Heidi has been attending Stick ‘n’ Step for 11 years and is now 14. At school, Heidi spends all day in her wheelchair, so loves the freedom of being out of it at Stick ‘n’ Step whilst undertaking her Conductive Education sessions. Heidi is currently working on strengthening her trunk control to enable her to sit independently for longer periods of time and is learning to improve her hand/eye coordination, which will help develop her fine manipulation skills using both hands. She is also learning new techniques to reduce involuntary movements and spasms. Opening our second centre in Runcorn in 2017 was a real bonus for her family, as living close by, they no longer had the additional expense or time commitment of making a 70-mile round trip to bring their daughter for her weekly session.
Our sessions are delivered by highly skilled professionals from our specialist centres in Wallasey and Runcorn and are designed to help each child reach their personal potential in terms of mobility, confidence, and independence. This can include learning to walk, talk, feed themselves, using the toilet independently and dress/undress. We don’t receive any government funding; we rely on our amazing supporters like you to continue our important work.
Your support means we can be here for children like Heidi and together we can help improve the lives of disabled children and their families.
Thank you once again for your support.
Alzheimer's Society:
Thank you for getting in touch to let us know how your fundraising went on Saturday. It's great to hear that you had a good time, and I can see on Just Giving that you raised an amazing £604! Thank you so much!
You’ll no doubt have seen another hugely significant breakthrough in our research lately, and these massive breakthroughs are all as a result of fundraising just like yours! You can appreciate how much every single penny counts. I’ve popped the link here - Dementia breakthrough drugs could be a golden opportunity – we need to seize it | Alzheimer's Society (alzheimers.org.uk)
We're so honoured to hear that you would like to fundraise for Alzheimer's Society again on Monday. As your choir has already raised such an incredible amount, I have forwarded your email onto one of my colleagues in community fundraising, who should be able to offer further support with your next event.
Unfortunately, I don't believe that we offer the kind of cardboard stands/signs in the photo attached, but we do have Alzheimer's Society banners and balloons. I will ask my colleague to confirm and let you know about the materials we can send out to you when they get in touch.
Again, a HUGE THANK YOU from all of us and for choosing to support Alzheimer’s Society.
Best wishes,
Megan
