THE STORY

Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Oscar®-nominated score as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz. Peter Parnell’s new book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Hugo’s gothic novel.

A sweeping score and powerful story make The Hunchback of Notre Dame an instant classic. Audiences will be swept away by the magic of this truly unforgettable musical.

SONG 1

SOMEDAY

This lush, emotionally rich score highlights the music’s orchestral power and choral beauty in an intimate retelling of the famous love story. 'Someday' transitioning into the supreme 'Bells of Notre Dame' is how this tale ends. Quasimodo, the main character, picks up Esmeralda and carries her into the square, where the Congregation has gathered to mourn her death.

This ending, alike the rest of the score, has a very poignant narrative approach, which is why this remains one of my most cherished Disney introductions of all time.

Here is a clip from the recent revival of Hunchback of Notre Dame. Watch from 2:59min onwards to listen to this gorgeous medley of 'Someday' ito 'Bells of Notre Dame'.
